Hors d'Oeuvres Fanzine

Hors d'Oeuvres Issue 1
Hors d'Oeuvres - Issue 1

Hors d’Oeuvres is the 1980s/90s Roy Harper Magazine. The first 10 issues were curated and published by Pete Cunliffe. After that it was taken over by Dave Carlin and Darren Crisp. There are 27 original issues.

After some recent discussion on the Roy Harper Appreciation FB page, I’ve sought permission and have decided to go ahead with a project to digitise the the fanzine and make it available to view via the website. I'd been wanting to do it for a long time. Having decided, It’s taken a while to think about the best way to go about it and then another while to scan and clean up the pages to make the reading experience more enjoyable. I think the results are good.

Issue one is now available on a Flipbook format. Subsequent issues will be added one at a time as I have the time to work on them. It’s time consuming to restore the copied newsprint. The type-written text is another issue with all the eccentricities unique to the ribbon in use at the time. But now that I have my method, I’m looking forward to developing this addition to the website. Lets see how this first issues behaves!
